Scope Cant
Calculator

Determine the maximum allowable rail cant before you lose the ability to zero your scope at a given range.

Configuration Parameters
IN
From center of scope erector assembly to bore centerline. Measured vertically with the rifle level. This is not the ring height — it includes the radius of both the scope tube and the barrel.
YD
Distance at which the rifle is zeroed. This is the range where the bullet's trajectory crosses the line of sight. Most common zero distances are 100 yards for precision rifles and 200 or 300 meters for military applications.
MIL
Total internal elevation travel. Found on scope manufacturer specs — Vortex calls it Max Elevation Adjustment, Nightforce calls it Internal Adjustment Range.
Default 36.1 mil is the Vortex Razor HD Gen III 6-36×56 (EBR-7D MRAD) per Vortex product literature.
Scope Mount Cant
Unit of Cant Angle
Mount + Rail Cant Angle
MOA
Total cant of your mount and rail combined. Leave blank to find the maximum allowable cant.
Ballistic Load Data (required — used to compute bullet drop at zero range and engagement envelope)
Atmospheric Conditions
Using ICAO standard atmosphere (59°F, 29.92 inHg, sea level). Expand to enter your actual conditions for more accurate results — this matters at elevation.
